Workforce Solutions Middle Rio Grande Child Care Provider Services (CCPS) provides subsidized childcare assistance to eligible families throughout the Middle Rio Grande Region. Counties included are; Dimmit, Edwards, Kinney, La Salle, Maverick, Real, Uvalde, Val Verde and Zavala.
Enrollment in the child care program is subject to the availability of funds. Because the need for childcare services is great in our community, we currently maintain a list of families interested in enrolling in the child care program. When enrollment into the program is not immediately available, we ask eligible parents to complete a Waitlist Application form to be added to the Waitlist. At any time, parents may call our office to check on the status of enrollment.
CCPS provides child care financial assistance for families eligible for Federal and State Child Care Subsidies. Those eligible for child care assistance include:
Parents who are receiving Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF),
Parents who have recently stopped receiving TANF benefits because of earned income,
Parents with low incomes who need help paying for child care so they can continue to work or attend school,
Teen parents from low-income families who need child care to attend school
Parents with low incomes who have children with disabilities, and
Parents who meet the definition of experiencing homelessness
Parents who receive CCPS assistance are required to pay a portion of their cost of care, with the exception of those parents who are participating in Choices or who are in Choices child care, parents who are participating in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment and Training (SNAP E&T) services or who are in SNAP E&T child care, parents of a child receiving child care for children experiencing homelessness, and parents who have children who are receiving protective services child care unless the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) assesses the parent share of cost. The parent’s share of cost will be based on a Sliding Fee Scale based on gross monthly income and family size.
State and federal funding allocated by the Texas Workforce Commission to Workforce Solutions Middle Rio Grande allows you to select a child care provider who will meet your needs and provide the best care available for your children. Care may be provided by a provider that is licensed or registered through the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) Child Care Licensing division, or by a relative of the child.
